Pelican Pub in Pacific City Oregon, Brewer’s Dinner

Josh and I recently had the opportunity to attend a Pelican  Brewer’s Dinner. One is held every few months and sadly we’d never attended one before but after this night…..Let’s just say that next Brewer’s Dinner in October, which is a murder mystery dinner (!!!) is already marked on my calendar!

We first arrived to the always gorgeous venue which overlooks Cape Kiwanda. We parked right on the beachside parking lot and took in the view. After living on the Oregon Coast now for over 8 years I still marvel at the beauty. With it being a gorgeous sunny evening I quickly claimed a beach selfie with Josh but wanted to just go inside to be sure I knew where everything was- yes, I am a bit OCD. Josh has to be talked into selfie taking but asked if I was sure and said we could just do it now. I’m sure he just wanted to get it over with… to which I replied with a “we will just come back out”. One look at all the gorgeous details and I got distracted. Sadly my friends, this was the selfie that was never to be. But details like this must be captured. Sunflower Flats once again outdid themselves with their creative touch of nature. Literally.

Mariah, events coordinator extraordinaire, had a vision of wilderness and Cindy and Natalie outdid themselves taking Mariah’s vision and bringing it to fruition. Leave it to them to take Oregon Moss and deer antler sheds then combine Manzanita twigs, bark cones, pheasant feathers and top them off with Cymbidium orchids to create jaw dropping centerpieces that were the talk at the tables. Imago Dei Photography- Pelican Pub Wedding, Pacific City Oregon Wedding Venues, Beach Weddings in Pacific City, Pacific City Oregon_0009Imago Dei Photography- Pelican Pub Wedding, Pacific City Oregon Wedding Venues, Beach Weddings in Pacific City, Pacific City Oregon_0010Imago Dei Photography- Pelican Pub Wedding, Pacific City Oregon Wedding Venues, Beach Weddings in Pacific City, Pacific City Oregon_0011

Now the atmosphere was fantastic but that in itself doesn’t complete an event. The food…. now that’s the real test. When Rattle Snake, Squab, and Ostrich were part of the 5 course meal, along with a few other more common favorites, we knew we were going to be treated to some ah-mazing dishes. I think the photos tell the story more than my words could. Imago Dei Photography- Pelican Pub Wedding, Pacific City Oregon Wedding Venues, Beach Weddings in Pacific City, Pacific City Oregon_0014Imago Dei Photography- Pelican Pub Wedding, Pacific City Oregon Wedding Venues, Beach Weddings in Pacific City, Pacific City Oregon_0015Imago Dei Photography- Pelican Pub Wedding, Pacific City Oregon Wedding Venues, Beach Weddings in Pacific City, Pacific City Oregon_0013Imago Dei Photography- Pelican Pub Wedding, Pacific City Oregon Wedding Venues, Beach Weddings in Pacific City, Pacific City Oregon_0016It was fun getting to personally hear from the chef and Brew Master, Darron Welch,  regarding how each piece came together, and of course how they chose to pair each specialty brew along with each course. Imago Dei Photography- Pelican Pub Wedding, Pacific City Oregon Wedding Venues, Beach Weddings in Pacific City, Pacific City Oregon_0012Imago Dei Photography- Pelican Pub Wedding, Pacific City Oregon Wedding Venues, Beach Weddings in Pacific City, Pacific City Oregon_0017Imago Dei Photography- Pelican Pub Wedding, Pacific City Oregon Wedding Venues, Beach Weddings in Pacific City, Pacific City Oregon_0019Imago Dei Photography- Pelican Pub Wedding, Pacific City Oregon Wedding Venues, Beach Weddings in Pacific City, Pacific City Oregon_0018
