I received a sweet email . He wanted to surprise the girl of his dreams with an engagement session while they were vacationing on the Oregon Coast. My response: SOLD! I mean really, that kind of a guy, that kind of a love- Josh and I agreed we needed to make it work into our schedule. Little did we know we would end up with rain on the day we scheduled to photograph. Kyle and Megan debated a wet romantic photo shoot but after looking at the wind gust and the ocean tide we all decided it was best to wait for what the next day would bring us. And we said a little prayer for a break in rain- and good cloud coverage!! We were on a bit of a timeline as Megan and Kyle had to head back home and get back to normal life after vacation…… Their travel plans meant we were going to have to photograph at noon.
If you don’t know many photographers this is our one big nightmare. Noon lighting is just….. harsh! It’s non flattering and it creates deep shadows. But with an assistant and some off camera flash knowledge and the right tools you can still get amazing photos for your clients. And so we moved forward with our very first Engagement Session at High Noon! Obviously not something I would highly recommend and in all honesty something we strongly discourage for our couples BUT there are cases where you just have to make it work and this was such a case.
And so with the stage set I give you this stunning and fun engagement session in Pacific City Oregon at Cape Kiwanda. One of my favorite go to places for engaged couples! Kyle and Megan I hope these images are everything you had hoped for and more. Congratulations again and thank you so much for choosing me to document this special time in your lives. xoxox Xiomara
One last thing: A huge thanks to my assistant Angela. This girl keeps me so organized with client care and it’s always fun when she can join me on these fun sessions… thank you Angela!! Your hard work is so appreciated by Josh and I!! :)
