It’s not often that I personally know my couples. Their highs. Their lows. The in-betweens. I mean, I always build a great relationship with my clients and we often times become great friends but we never get to the depth that oftentimes we do with those from our church. It’s not often that my wedding clients know mine and Josh’s weaknesses and our stories from when we were just newlyweds 16 years ago. Those ones that will leave you on the floor laughing at our stupidity and immaturity…. and those ones that hopefully remind you it’s worth fighting for a strong marriage. It’s an intimate relationship we don’t often share with many couples but when Austin and Sam asked us to come alongside and mentor them as pastors and really prepare them for marriage Josh and I both felt very much led to do so. We are so thankful for the genuine relationship and trust we have been able to nurture with Austin and Sam. And I have to tell you, this made for quite an emotional day for me. Josh kept it together, I kept holding back tears. I’m such a girl! But seeing them so happy and content, seeing how everything worked out so well for them (including the fact it never rained on them as the rain would stop when they were outside- thank you Lord!) made me so thrilled for them.
Austin and Sam, thank you- for everything. We love you guys and cannot wait to see where The Lord guides you in your lives and marriage. We will continue praying for you and your love and most of all that Christ have his way in your lives. Now, enjoy a few of my favorites from your beautiful day! xoxo Josh and Xiomara
One of the coolest things about Austin and Sam’s wedding is that everything, and I do mean e-ver-y-thing was handmade by them. Samantha cut, glued, painted, sowed- you name it! Austin also became quite crafty and measured, sawed, and built both the altar and the bar as well as the drinks table! A labor of love they said.
