Marissa and Brian’s love story as told at Cathedral Park in Portland Oregon….She knew she wanted to get to know this guy from day one. It was perhaps his lightheartedness. Or perhaps it was the way in which he showed respect and kindness towards everyone. Regardless, she knew she wanted to get to know him better. He felt into a natural cadence and rhythm of friendship with her. They studied, shared the same friendships and even served in church ministry together…. And we all know in church ministry you get to know the real deal of people! ;) He found himself just wanting to be near her and that spending time together was life giving.
Both wise beyond their years they sought counsel in regards to their relationship. Not wanting to jump into something less than God honoring. He knew he wanted a lifelong commitment and wife and did not want to waste either of their times in a relationship without that in mind. As they shared their love story with me, underneath the St. Johns Bridge their love for The Lord God –and sincere wish to honor Him with their lives and choices was evident. Truthfully I wanted to hug them tightly right then and there. They give me hope. That this next generation loves God’s precepts and the church lies in good hands…. but I digress…..
Brian and Marissa are a great example to God’s faithfulness. His ways are best. His design is perfect. His plan for marriage and the way in which He blessed our unions speaks to His perfectly gracious ways. Brian and Marissa, what a gift your relationship is! I can’t wait to see how God uses it for His glory and purpose! xoxo Xiomara
