The schedules get packed each season. Loving each and every shoot. Each and every wedding, and yet at the end of each season your artistic drive is just on reserve. This is when a passion project can bring a breath of fresh air. A renewed passion and drive to create from the heart and be inspired by your own work. After all, an artist needs passion, needs heart and vision and can’t settle for a pinterest version of what artistry is. Artistry must be birthed from within even after years of creating an artist must stay renewed and inspired. It’s a task and it’s a challenge………This is how this inspirational shoot came about. And I’ll be honest with you, it’s one shoot that to date remains my favorite. Of all time.
I am so amazingly blessed to work with local friends that just happen to be the best of the best in the local wedding industry. I know I can trust their expertise and that they respect mine and that frees us all to do our best work. In my mind this would include a girl, a horse, stunning florals, soft feminine touches throughout and a shared tea party. Don’t ask me how I got there but I just thought this would be a little girls dream come true, having high tea with her beloved companion. So together Cindy, Natalie (Sunflower Flats) and I put our heads together and dreamed something new, fresh and inspiring…… and the results…. well, I am thrilled to say Grey Likes published our work, which is a huge kudo for us creatives in itself BUT what is even more rewarding is having achieved a shoot of this scale with so much heart and love. That’s what it’s about in the end anyway.
I would like to thank Chloe our sweet and beautiful model. She did a fabulous job working in a commercial shoot set and one that included her horse (if you don’t know much about these beautiful creatures, it is not an easy task for a horse nor a little girl to work two hours on set. And that is a big understatement!) Chloe you are fabulous and so is Cabo!! Thank you for your hard work! :) I must also thank my favorite girl Naomi who came to support her friend Chloe and assist however she could. Your helpful attitude was so appreciated Naomi and I am so proud of you!
Sunflower Flats, Madeline’s Vintage Marketplace, and Rain Rene are some vendors which I am indebted to for life- Really you all made this shoot possible, without you it would have just stayed a dream!! Rene from Rain Rene came on board after only a few emails. After a few descriptive ideas she set to work and designed a custom gown and then hand made the gorgeous gown for this shoot. In fact she made it specifically to Chloe’s measurements and kept to the specific look we were going for- this was vital to the shoot! Jennifer from Madeline’s brought in the perfect furniture pieces and delicate touches to help keep the cohesive feel we were looking to achieve. Not only that but she assisted with staging and of course provided much needed muscle for the day’s tasks! And of course Cindy and Natalie of Sunflower Flats who took a floral vision and then ran with it surpassing any dream I could have imagined. Their floral selections and their unique artistry was on point with what was needed and without their skilled eye this could not have looked this dreamy!! Again thank you all for dreaming alongside me and being a joy to work with!
Forever thankful, Xiomara
