Traveling back to the small town she grew up in, she told her brother Dan that being opening day of elk hunting season she might get a tag. The next morning, tag in hand, they decided to venture out seeking that perfect bull. When I asked Kayla where she and Daniel met she put it so matter of fact; “in the woods” she said. There is so much more to how they met though. You see Kayla’s brother Dan knew some of his friends were out before the break of dawn seeking a bull as well. Not long after day break Dan and Kayla saw the elk spook and head towards where Dan knew his friends were. Dan made the call to let them know the elk were headed in their direction and soon they heard one gun shot. After confirming that Daniel, one of Dan’s friends, had a bull down, they began hiking over to them to help. On their way to help, Kayla encountered the herd of elk again and this time she got her first bull. Let’s just say that Saturday morning was eventful for both Daniel and Kayla. Little did they know that this chance meeting would lead to many phone conversations, getting to know each other as they lived long distance from one another and falling madly in love. Daniel said that he knew not long after getting to know her that she was the one. It was just obvious and clear he wanted to spend the rest of his life with this girl.
When we began to plan their engagement session I asked their ideal location. Again Kayla spoke up “in the woods”…. the woods is where it started so it was fitting to document their love among the Oregon green that we just love in Tillamook. And Daniel and Kayla sure make the woods look goooood!
